Sandra Newson

Sandra started her journey three years ago when she began attending regular classes with Hannah. She quickly became aware of the healing effect pilates had on the mind, body and the strength it enabled her to gain both mentally and physically. Sandra’s interest has become a passion and she knows that pilates will always be a part of her daily life. Having been given the wonderful opportunity to teach at Riverside Studios Sandra is currently training towards a Level 3 Specialist Diploma in mat pilates including pre / post natal pilates, pilates for common orthopaedic conditions and small pilates equipment.  She continues to be inspired with each lesson she attends and teaches. Sandra believes that pilates has something to offer to everyone whatever their age or fitness level, building strength, awareness of your body, confidence and calming the mind. She is thoroughly enjoying studying, teaching and being able to watch people learn how to take control of their body and mind. Her aim it to ensure people feel relaxed, confident and at ease in a comforting environment, hoping that they will feel empowered to find their own pilates passion as they start out on their own journey 🙂

Tracy Harris

Tracy was a professional dancer and singer and has attended dance and exercise classes since the age of 3, so exercise is a huge part of her life.
6 years ago when Riverside Studio first opened, Tracy, having problems with back and hamstring injuries, decided to give Pilates a go. It very quickly helped to sort her injuries and become a major part of her life, improving her core strength, flexibility and general well being.
12 months ago Hannah asked her if she’d be interested in becoming a Pilates instructor. She was flattered and honoured to be asked! Tracy has now qualified to teach beginners classes, her training is ongoing and she is aiming to complete the intermediate and advanced levels by the end of the year.
She is very excited to start teaching at these beautiful studios, come and join her, let Pilates into your life! You won’t regret it, she certainly hasn’t.

Jeanine Tomasso

We are very excited to introduce our latest addition to our amazing team! Jeanine started yoga 16 years ago after finishing 6 years of body building and discovering how tight and inflexible she’d become she loved it from the minute she started so attended classes weekly and began to feel the benefits physically and mentally so after starting to look into the theory of yoga decided to study it more which led to her teacher training. Jeanine done her Hatha and Iyenga yoga training in New Zealand and has no end of experience and knowledge in the Yoga industry and also the more spiritual side including Reiki.
Following the huge success of Jeanines taster classes throughout the summer we are so excited for her to be a permanent addition as of September 2016!

Michelle McClean

Michelle has been teaching Bootybarre for 3 years after starting out as a freelance instructor in Wales. She has a background of dance and enjoys being able to bring her passion in ballet and dance to her Bootybarre classes. Michelle finds Bootybarre an amazing way to chisel, sculpt and tone those problem areas, and she is a strong believer in combining controlled muscle focused training with cardio blasts for an all over fat blasting workout. Michelle is a tough trainer and works her clients hard to ensure everyone reaches their maximum potential and leaves the class smiling, feeling revitalised and reenergised.

Lexi Spall

Lexi has been practicing yoga for nearly 10 years now, after the birth of her first child. Lexi found that it increased her energy levels (when she needed it most!), physical health and flexibility. Along with these improvements came focus, calmness and peace of mind.
Practicing yoga and yogic breathing throughout her 2nd pregnancy and labour brought Lexi great comfort and helped immensely. Lexis practice really increased after this time, getting on the mat pretty much every day. Then finally, the time was right for her to start and successfully complete her teacher training.

Jennifer Dunnell

Jennifer originally trained as a dancer at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom Surrey. Whilst living and working as a dancer, actress, model in London, Jennifer also was a TV presenter for the BBC and wrote fitness articles for Style magazine in the Sunday Times. She danced at the Sadlers Wells theatre with Michael Clark Co and taught at the famous Pineapple Studios. Dance training merged into fitness training, gaining the first Personal Fitness Training Diplomas from City University along with many other qualifications, including Exercise Referral and Pilates through Michael King’s Pilates Institute. When Jennifer moved back to the area in 2000 she became the Exercise Referral Coordinator working for the NHS and started her own pilates classes and personal fitness training business. In 2007 she opened her dance school The Norfolk Academy of Ballet, which soon became the well known Nabjab Dance & Performing Arts which now has a permanent base at Nabjab Studios in Great Yarmouth. Jennifer is delighted to be a part of the Riverside team and delivering Seated Pilates for Hannah at Seaside Studios and covering when she can.

Jan Pickering

Jan combines a career in education with freelance exercise teaching and in both roles has a commitment to wellbeing, personal development and the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles.  At East Coast College / University of Suffolk she delivers teacher training and teaches Psychology on the Foundation degree in Sport Health and Exercise.    

Originally trained in Exercise to Music and Gym Instructing, Jan has been involved in the fitness industry for over 30 yearsand has enjoyed teaching many different formats from circuits to Step, aerobics and body conditioning.  She taught and assessed on Exercise to Music teacher training courses and was the Regional Representative for the Exercise Association, forerunner to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).  Trained in 2007 with Modern Pilates, she has been teaching Mat Pilates to groups and individuals for 11 years and has more recently begun teaching Reformer having achieved Stott Pilates Certified status in 2017.  She has specialist interests in spinal conditions, pelvic floor health and, since achieving MSc in Dance Science is increasingly involved in the promotion of dancer wellbeing and health.

Sandie Slater

Sandie is thrilled to join Hannah and the rest of the team at Riverside Studios. Sandie thoroughly enjoys teaching and has a deep passion for helping others learn about the many ways they can improve the quality of their health and lives through regular Pilates practice.

Sandie trained with Body Control Pilates in London  and is a level 3 Body Control Matwork Instructor with over 5 years teaching experience , both in group classes and on a  One to One basis . She is committed to developing her knowledge further and regularly attends  specialist training courses in London.

Sandie has a Health Care Professional background having worked in the NHS for over 30 years as a Speech and Language Therapist.  Earlier this year, Sandie decided to have a significant  change of career and  focus entirely on teaching in order to share her belief in the health benefits of Pilates for improving  physical strength and flexibility but also in helping to relieve stress and promote emotional well being. 

The medically  approved Body Control Pilates approach allows people to work at their own pace and to build skills step by step . Sandie is always mindful of individual needs and capabilities and prioritises teaching the Pilates exercises safely and effectively, in a calm supportive environment.

Maria Popova

Maria discovered Yoga after the birth of her second child, at a time when she was feeling weak, emotional, with her physical body in a great deal of pain. Maria found that not only did the Yoga help to ease her physical pain, but helped to improve her mental clarity, emotional wellbeing and gave her some much needed time for herself. Maria continues to enjoy the many benefits that Yoga brings to her on a daily basis, and wants to share this joy in her Yoga Classes.

Yoga was introduced to Emma only 4 years ago where she started to practice daily.
The impact it had on her life was immense so she packed herself off to Bali where she earned and completed her 200 hr yoga teacher training qualification.
Yoga now plays a massive part in Emma’s  life on and off the mat.
Emma is very much into the spiritual aspect of yoga as this transformed her life drastically.
Enma now lives the life she was destined for and has never been happier physically,mentally and emotionally.

Paulina Hurren

After over 30 years of performing in the West End, touring and working abroad, Paulina hung up her dancing shoes and moved to Norfolk 12 years ago, where she worked at Potters resort for many years as a singer/dancer then became a Mum, after gaining 3 stone in pregnancy Paulina had a new found appreciation of how difficult it is for people to shift the weight, and so became a Zumba instructor and more recently a Boogie Bounce instructor and discovered how getting back into shape didn’t need to be a chore! She wanted to share a wealth of experience in her time as a professional dancer with others and hopefully inspire and help with getting fit, but also finding their confidence.

Kelly has been teaching Bootybarre now for over 5 years and still loves it now as much as she did then. Having got a background in dance she couldn’t think of a better class to teach. She is a local self employed instructor and has now been teaching fitness for 8 years. Kelly is very pleased to have been asked to join the team at Riverside studios.

Gemma Daniels

We are very lucky to have the one and only Gemma Daniels teaching adult dance fitness. Gemma went to one of the U.K.’s highest proclaimed dance college ‘Performers’ at the age of 16. From there she has had a full 14 year dance career, which she is very proud of. It has taken her all over the world, including over 3 years in the U.S living in Vegas and performing as a backing dancer for KYLIE MINOGUE!!Gemma is extremely inspiring and encouraging and her classes are lot of fun!!!

Hannah

Hannahs roots are here in Norfolk but has done an extensive amount of travelling with her dancing career.
